Multi-commodity cold storage is one of the most challenging fields in Cold Storage sector. When each and every time that a cold storage facility is constructed, unique factors must be taken into consideration based on the location of the cold storage as well as the types of products or materials that will be stored inside there.
Normally smaller cold rooms are used to store a particular single product in a single smaller room. Their storage capacities are about from 5 MT to 50 MT. But multi-Commodity Cold Storages are mainly designed for multiple products which can be stored & maintained in same temperature. Multi-Commodity Cold Storages range starts from 500 MT to 5000 MT.
In Positive Chambers we can store Fruits & Vegetables, Potatoes, Grains, Dry Fruits, Milk Products like Cheese, Paneer, Vaccines, etc., can be stored in a same temperature range between +2 to +8 Deg C. Some products like Spices, Pulses, Millets, Tamarinds, etc., can be stored in a same temperature range between +8 to +12 Deg C.
In Negative Chambers Frozen Foods like readymade Chappathi, Parotta, French Fries, Frozen Peas, Nuggets, Meat products like Poultry, Sea Foods, Dairy products like Frozen Desserts, Ice Cream, Butter, etc., can be stored & maintained in similar temperature range between -15 to -25 Deg C.
